Grounded in Culture
I am a generational Native Hawaiian from Mana’e, Molokai. Growing up, I was taught that by doing the work of our ancestors,
we honor our past, ground ourselves in the present, and set a foundation so that our future generations can thrive.
we honor our past, ground ourselves in the present, and set a foundation so that our future generations can thrive.
Dedicated to Malama ʻAina
'He aliʻi ka ʻaina, he kauwa ke kanaka'. The land is in charge, and we are the servants. Our existence relies on our ability to care for our environment. Mālama 'āina kuleana is the core of who I am.
An Advocate for the Community
Over the years, I've been involved in numerous community organizing efforts to raise awareness for issues that included the sale of Molokai Ranch, Molokai Support for Maunakea, Molokai Climate Resiliency Summit, and the petition to restore water flow to the Kawela Stream. I was also a leader in the successful efforts to establish a cap of zero short term vacation rental homes on Molokai and to relocate the Puko'o fire station out of the flood zone, both of which were years long processes.
